    Dr. Martens is a brand with a history. Dr. Klaus Maertens was an army doctor during the Second World War. While on leave, he went skiing, injuring his ankle. The regular army boot made him uncomfortable, so he designed appropriate footwear for himself. This served as a model for the Dr. Martens boots.
